Payment Methods of Real Estate Taxes

Through out the year acceptable payment forms are personal checks, business checks, cashiers checks, money orders and credit/debit cards. Between December 14th and December 31st only cashiers checks, money orders and credit/debit cards will be accepted.

County/Township Bills

Each year in March, Cumberland County mails the County/Township real estate bill. The bill must be paid in full at one time. If the bill is paid by April 30th, the discount amount is due. If the payment is made between May 1 and June 30 the face amount is due. If payment is made between July 1 and December 31, the penalty amount is due.

School Bills

Each year in July, Cumberland Valley School District mails the School real estate tax bill. The bill can be paid in three installments, as specified on the bill or in one full payment. The installment amounts cannot be changed. If the tax collector receives payment for a different amount, it will be mailed back to the payor for correction.

If full payment is made by August 31st, the discount amount is due. If the payment is made between September 1 and October 31st, the face amount is due. If payment is made between November 1st and December 31st, the penalty amount is due.

If paying installments, the first payment must be received by August 31st. Second installment must be paid between September 1 and September 30. The third installment must be paid between October 1 and October 31st. If the first installment is not received by August 31st, installment plan is not longer available to the tax-payer. Payment must be submitted in full.
